The firm was established in 1986 and formally registered as Mike Ozekhome Chambers with the Corporate Affairs Commission in 2001, and later re-registered as Mike Ozekhome Limited Partnership in July 2026. Founded by Chief Mike Agbedor Abu Ozekhome, CON, OFR, FCIArb, LL.D, one of Nigeria's foremost constitutional lawyers, the firm has earned an enviable reputation for fearless advocacy and unwavering commitment to justice.

Chief Ozekhome honed his skills at the firm of his mentor, the late Chief Gani Fawehinmi, SAN, GCON, before founding MOC now MOLP. In 1987 he co-founded the Civil Liberties Organisation (CLO) , Nigeria's first human rights league. He is also counsel at the International Criminal Court, The Hague, and a United Nations Peace Ambassador.
